Traditional medicine is one form of treatment that is still trusted by the community until now, including in Kalotok Village. Most people choose to entrust their healing through traditional medicine performed by sanro. This type of research is a qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. Data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The research informants were seven people consisting of two sanro and five patients. The results showed, first, sanro has a treatment method that tends to use simple ingredients that are easily obtained such as plants and water. In addition, sanro also uses a spell that only he knows to blow on the patient. Second, the reason people choose to go to Sanro for treatment is due to several factors, namely economic factors where the cost of Sanro treatment is cheaper; the convenience factor where treatment at Sanro does not require documents such as ID cards, Family Cards, and BPJS; and factors of parental and ancestral habits where patients from childhood were invited to go to Sanro for treatment by their parents and ancestors.

Abstract

The urban ring road infrastructure as a development project designed to improve accessibility as well as mobility is in fact inseparable from problems that lead to the disruption of development continuity. One important issue that also affects the sustainability of development is spatial issues. Development is carried out on freed community land and this has relevance to how land as space is viewed. For this reason, this research aims to reveal differences in spatial perspectives among development stakeholders and formulate them as causes for the failure of development. Through a qualitative approach and borrowing Henri Lefebvre's spatial perspective, this research reveals that there are different perspectives among local communities, local governments, city governments and road users regarding the ringroad development. Local community tend to view development areas as areas that are close to their lives so that there is no shared awareness of the importance of road construction, in contrast to road users who prioritize the principles of effectiveness and comfort. Meanwhile, the village government sees the road as part of tourism project, while the city government views it as a state asset that will open up new accessibility spaces. This difference in spatial perspective creates an inconsistency of perspective among development actors which in the end has an impact on the neglect of development.

Abstract

Women's relationship with terrorism has undergone a considerable paradigm shift. This is because women who were originally associated as victims of terrorism, are now transformed into diverse roles as facilitators, recruiters, nurses, couriers, suicide perpetrators, to militants on the front lines of terrorism. In this paper the method used is a qualitative method with literature study techniques. Qualitative methods is used to be able to describe research topics more explorative. The involvement of women in acts of terror in Indonesia was first identified in 2004 where Detachment 88 captured Munifatun, the wife of terrorist Noordin M. Top. Furthermore, women who are perpetrators of terror that are quite attention-grabbing occurred throughout 2021. When viewed more broadly, in terms of numbers, men still dominate. But the number of women arrested in terrorism cases increased significantly from four cases in 2011-2015 to thirty-two cases in 2016-2020. BNPT has placed women as special objects in the deradicalization program, as the role of women in terrorism changes. BNPT does this not as a form of gender bias, but as a difference in the deradicalization approach between men and women.

Abstract

In the 2020 Pilkada in Medan City, the Akhyar-Salman candidate pair collaborated with UAS in campaigning activities to attract the sympathy of recitation mothers and Muslims in Medan City. The uniqueness of this research is that the practice of identity politics carried out by Akhyar-Salman has no effect on the victory in the 2020 Pilkada in Medan City. The purpose of this study is to validly reveal the practice and influence of the identity politics of the Akhyar-Salman couple in the 2020 Pilkada in Medan City. The research method carried out by the researcher is a qualitative method through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the identity politics practices carried out by the Akhyar-Salman couple in the 2020 Medan City Elections include (1) door to door, (2) social media, (3) issue management. Then the influence of identity politics did not make the Akhyar-Salman pair get a seat in the Medan City Election. The indication of this problem is that there is power driven by power, so the Boby-Aulia pair have slightly different votes. Even though during the campaign period they used a fairly strong strategy of identity politics, but this was not able to have an effect on the votes they got and irrational promises.
